And Lo, Darkness

SONY DSCAnd Lo, darkness wasOn the face of our deeps. TheSpirit fluttered, breathed. And breath became word,And the word was spoken. AndWe heard and cried out,“Let this voice remainSilent. Grant us, darkness, ourDeath, lest our life come.”And the word becameLight, and we cried that all ourHope was lost; and said“Damn you.” We wept forDead death as for a father,And we cried for theWomb of our motherDarkness, where we had been safeAnd dead, dead and safe. And we wept to beBorn, and were born regardless,And then there was light.
