Prayer for Teatime

anastasize! uplift me to your breath(from down below where i have scribbled out,in argent lead, the cage ensnaring death).but snatch me when my rusty kettles shout!o, seek me out! this sordid steam shrouds allthe ugly words and wonders i composedto drag you down to dust and make you smallenough to cram inside my cup: deposed.awaken, truth! i sip, i read, i clingto what i see: darjeeling, fettered prayer, theology. as if they taste the kingof kings. as if they glimpse what prospers there:that triune heart beyond the scholar’s sea.dispel my erudition. dwell in me.
