Time is a rainbow

Time is a rainbow

gestating in the stale air,

a forgotten vow,

a winter song

that wavers in the etherized silence;

its long arc bends

toward a dusky field

where a pitcher lies

shattered by the spring,

and the almond tree blossoms

as the clouds return after the rain.
